The Bell UH-IB, better known as the ‘Huey’ or ‘Iroquois’, was developed by the U.S. army to transport troops and cargo during the Vietnam conflict and remains in service to this day. Hirobo’s version draws on the tried and trusted S30 scale mechanics yet adds the ‘flexi’ tail drive system to place the tail rotor in the scale position. Complete with retracts this larger version of BELL’S all time classic is a dream to fly and has the advantage of unrivalled access to the S60 mechanics inside. The basic power section is standard S60 but in the BELL 222 the tail drive is of the straight wire type. Some cockpit detail is supplied, however the amount of detail you could include would pay dividends in scale competitions. A big machine but quite happy to fly on a .60 size motor.
